Frequently Asked Questions
How can I be referred for psychology services?
Send me an email or use the contact me page of the website to get the process started. If you plan to access Medicare rebates to cover some of the cost of the sessions, then you will need to book an appointment with your GP and ask for a mental health treatment plan before our first session.
What ages do you work with?
I have experience working across the lifespan. I provide support to young children and their parents, all the way through to adulthood. I also enjoy helping teenagers to develop their independence, achieve their goals and increase their resilience and wellbeing.
What is your fee for a psychology session?
My rate for an individual psychology session is $240. Concession rates may be negotiated based on personal circumstance.Â
You may be able to access rebates to cover some of the cost if you have private health insurance (check with your fund) or from Medicare if you have a mental health treatment plan (MHTP) from your GP. For example, if you have a MHTP from your GP you would get back $141.85 (leaving an out of pocket expense of $98.15). Speak to your GP to see if you are eligible for a referral under a MHTP.
I am interested in knowing more about clinical supervision with you?
If you are looking for supervision for your provisional psychology internship, university placements or the clinical registrar program please send me an email outlining what your supervision needs are. I will get in touch to let you know of my availability, fees, and my approach to help you determine if I can support you with your program.
What type of therapeutic approaches do you use?
I am trained and have experience using a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I will ask you about your past therapy experiences and preferences you may have to adapt my approach to best suit your goals. Through my integrative approach I will typically draw on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and solution-focussed brief therapy frameworks to support you.
